The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region pays great attention to the development of international and foreign economic relations. The main focus is on attracting foreign investors, providing assistance in establishing direct business contacts between Nizhny Novgorod and foreign enterprises and forming an attractive image of the region abroad

  • Nizhny Novgorod Region has 28 partner regions from 17 countries

 

  • Municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region have signed about 80 contractual documents on twinning relations with partners from 26 foreign countries

 

  • The administrative center – Nizhny Novgorod – has 20 twin cities from 19 countries of neighbouring countries and beyond

 

  • In 2022, more than 50 foreign delegations from 30 countries visited the Nizhny Novgorod Region, including Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Israel, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Moldova, Norway, UAE, Pakistan, Peru, Serbia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Montenegro, South Africa

COOPERATION WITH FOREIGN COUNTRIES

The Nizhny Novgorod Region progressively expands the geography of international cooperation, as well increases the intensity of bilateral cooperation with foreign countries.

    to $ 7.76 billion

  • The share of non-CIS foreign countries accounted for 79% of the total foreign trade turnover

  • Exports increased by 1.5 times and amounted to
    $ 4.92 billion, imports grew by 7% and amounted to $ 2.84 billion

      COOPERATION WITH C.I.S.

      Nizhny Novgorod Region actively develops cooperation with the C.I.S. The requirement of these countries to modernize their infrastructure creates opportunities for large regional enterprises to enter and gain a foothold in the markets of these countries.

       

      20 agreements on cooperation with the post-Soviet countries were signed, however the work on increasing the number of such agreements does not stop.

       

      At the end of 2021, 15 С.I.S. countries were trading partners of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
